The only thing bigger than Mike ‘Pinky’ Gallant’s legendary hockey grit was his enormous heart—a legacy that lives on through his sons, Brett and Alex Gallant. Both professional hockey players, Brett and Alex are also former BGC Summerside employees, volunteers, and mentors who continue to inspire youth with their dedication, leadership, and kindness.

This scholarship, valued up to $1000, is awarded to a youth who reflects that same spirit—someone who shows toughness when it’s needed, but leads with compassion, generosity, and character. It celebrates youth who support others, lead by example, and bring heart to everything they do—on the ice, at the Club, and in life.
